Money Really Isn’t Everything

Brian Alvarado, Staff Reporter

There seems to be a lot of focus on money nowadays. Especially since election times are coming in. Everyone is looking at who might put or keep more money in their pockets. Wasting time and stress on something that might never happen. Especially with the system we have in place, nothing significant seems to get done anymore. So I suggest, that instead of waiting around for hopeless politicians to do something to better your life, do something to better your own situation.
No, I do not mean go out and attempt to become rich or even make money. That seems to be the only thing on everyone’s mind going into college. They’re all worried about making money, so they go out and major in something they don’t even like in order to make a decent living. But the sad thing is the one thing you can never buy back is that time you spent torturing yourself in order to buy that brand new tv or car you always wanted, but then a week later no longer gives you the same satisfaction. You see, no matter how many things you buy, you’re only ever going want more. No matter how many things you buy, it’s never enough
When you take the time to look at what you have and just be content and when you stop trying to convince yourself that you need this or that, you have more time to do what you want. No more keeping that good paying job you never wanted to do just because it makes your parents happy or because all your other friends have become “successful”. Instead of worrying about how much money you’re making, do more of what you love and be happy with what you have so that at the end of your life you can look back and actually say that you’ve made the most of it.
