There’s a new incentive to get up and go to school

Skipping school has become a big problem.
Skipping school has become a big problem.
Not coming to school has become a big problem.

Imagine waking up to a phone call at 6:15 a.m. on a regular monday morning.

“Hello?” you’d say groggily.

“Hey, it’s Big Sean!” says the voice on the other end.

Would you even be able to handle yourself? Probably not.

Getschooled.com is a non-profit organization from New York that has partnerships with some of the biggest stars out there. Such as Big Sean, Nicki Minaj, Tyga and Victoria Justice. Those are only four of the 20 some artists involved to help you get up for school.

It goes like this: you sign up for your favorite artist to call you in the morning and wake you up. The competition starts in October.

With 7 million kids missing over a month of school in the U.S., something had to be done. Even though 64% of kids who skip school want to go to college, only 9% of those 9th graders actually go (according to Getschooled.com). If you’re skipping school, you’re only hurting yourself.

This would be an amazing and helpful experience for all those students who feel like missing that one day won’t hurt; those days add up quickly. Colleges like to see attendance. Don’t be a statistic.
