To the athletes walking the halls of HHS: never stop drinking water. For the teachers and staff who are running around from classroom to classroom or teaching all day: never stop drinking water. For anyone in general: never stop drinking water. In fact, you should always be drinking water. Always. Here are five reasons on why you should be drinking it all the time.

  1. Stay hydrated

You need water to keep you moving. The more hydrated you are, the better your performances will be for anything you do. Not drinking enough water can cause you to feel sick and lead to an unhealthy body.

  1. Boosts your metabolism/ Flushes out toxins

Ever feeling gross of bloated? Drinking water will clean out your body, so the more you drink, the more you’ll have to use the bathroom and clear out waste. Water also boosts your metabolism, which will help break down foods in your body faster.

  1. Regulates your body temperature (from working out or moving around)

All that sweat you get from walking or running around is from your body cooling down. Water will help you when you are scorching in the heat or freezing in the cold by warming your body up.

  1. If something doesn’t feel right, drink water

Ever had that one really bad headache? Drink water. Ever feeling tired? Drink water. You honestly can’t go wrong with the healthiest drink in the world. Drinking water can’t hurt you; it can only help you.

  1. It’s an energy drink

Water should be the first thing you drink when you wake up in the morning and the last thing you drink at the end of the night. You’ve also been dehydrated from the night before because you just went hours without water, so it’s important to refuel. Not only will it wake you up in the morning, but it will fuel you up with a natural liquid, something soda or juice can’t do.
