The only people that believe in the American dream are people who live in other countries. We take for granted all of the freedoms we have even from this one amendment.
Freedom of religion- This allows people of the country to practice the religion of their choice, which is good because so many warts have been started over religion.
Freedom of speech- with this right I can type “the government sucks” and I am not going to get hunted down by some storm trooper in my home.
Freedom of press- This allows people to type what they want in the papers. With out the opinions of people in our community, some people may not be as informed in what is happening in our local government and other events.
Freedom of assembly- This right allows people to meet together in public or privet to talk about what ever. Some times I think it’s funny when groups meet to talk about how horrible the government is, even though they are allowed to speak, write, and meet to talk against them…move to china and try that.
Freedom of petition- this allows the people of our country to change a law that is in effect to a law that is no longer running.

I support the first amendment because I believe I have the right to say whatever I want about the government. If they screw up, then I should be allowed to express my opinion about why I disagree with what they are doing without getting into trouble or being punished.
