Once again, ESPN College Gameday has returned to James Madison University (JMU) for the second time in three years. The iconic orange Gameday bus arrived on Thursday and the main segment of the show went live on Saturday morning. Sophomore Lily Harmison attended Gameday on the Quad with her dad.

“I went with my dad. It was a lot of fun to go with him since I didn’t get to go with him at all last year.” Harmison said.

According to Harmison, the Gameday crowds weren’t too bad, but she noted that she was there early.

“[Even though] you had to fight your way through the crowd, it wasn’t bad. [My tip would be to] get there early. I went at 9:00 a.m. when [Gameday] started.” Harmison said.

Harmison also attended the game versus Villanova University later that afternoon. She said that the game was different from other home games because of the presence of ESPN.

“[It was different because] there were more people there; the game was packed. It was a lot louder in the stadium. [JMU] threw an interception in their first drive so everybody was going crazy. It was great.” Harmison said.

Harmison said that she enjoyed all of the aspects of Gameday, but she especially liked when the ESPN hosts did their predictions of who was going to win.

“My favorite thing about gameday was when they did the reveal of who’s going to win. [The Gameday hosts] all did their picks and they picked JMU and everybody went crazy. Streamers were everywhere, there was confetti, it was awesome.” Harmison said.

Ultimately, JMU beat Villanova 30-8. Harmison noted that if Gameday ever comes back, she would likely go.

“I think it will be a couple of years, but if we win another national championship then they’ll be back. If they have Gameday again [at JMU], then I would definitely go.” Harmison said.
