On Friday evening, the boy’s varsity soccer game played Waynesboro at HHS. The final score was 4-0, with HHS in the lead. At halftime, HHS was leading 2-0. Overall, three of the four goals scored by senior Roberto Gonzalez-Cavazos. The other goal was scored by freshman Lucio Bianchi.

After reflecting back on this game, Coach Paul Rath noticed a few things that the team can improve upon in the future.

“I think that from this game on, we still have to focus on possession, and we’ve got to work on sticking with our game plan and not going so directicle,” Rath said. “We [also] need to finish our shots; [our score] could have been a little bit higher if we put the ball in the back of the net.”

Overall, Rath was satisfied with the team’s performance and was happy about the win.
“The team played well tonight. We played a lot better in our attacking third than we normally do, and we didn’t play as well in our defensive mid third, which we should of. [This] led to a couple of opportunities for Waynesboro, but other than that we played good,” Rath said, “The winning part of [the game] was [not one of my expectations], which made it really special.”
