At the Southwestern Virginia District competition, the team placed 11th out of 34 teams who participated. They did not make it to the semi finals, but were able to participate in the quarter finals. At the previous competition, they placed high and received an award for creativity.

“It’s awesome because you’re building a robot. It teaches a lot of stuff about learning to work with people that you normally wouldn’t want to work with and make the best of your opportunities,” sophomore Nathan Gehman said.

The next competition will be the regional meet at the University of Maryland.  The team has yet to hear if they qualified.
