My opinion on the best show of the year would have to go to Pretty Little Liars (PLL). Some people know Pretty Little Liars as the show with “four hot girls,” or the “A” show. If you haven’t heard of the show, let’s just say it’s the best one ever.

Pretty Little Liars is a show based on four high school girls who have been bothered by an unknown person who goes by “A.” The show started out with five girls who happen to be named Alison, Emily, Aria, Hanna and Spencer. The five girls are very popular in school, and everybody knows them. In the very first episodes of Pretty Little Liars, Alison, “the leader” goes missing. Aria, Hanna, Spencer and Emily all know that Alison is the kind of person who likes to play games. The girls automatically assume that she’s just messing around with them, but they soon find out that she’s gone for sure.

A year since Alison’s disappearance, the girls find out that she is dead. Soon after their friend’s funeral, they start receiving text messages from an unknown person. The anonymous person goes by “A” in every message that is sent to them, and the girls don’t know who it’s from. They start to assume that the messages are from Alison, but then they remember that she’s dead. The show continues on with the girls trying to figure out out what happened to Alison and who “A” is. There are a ton of plot twists, and that’s why I think it’s the best.

I absolutely love this show. There is a new surprise in every episode, and they get more intense every time. My favorite quote from the show would have to be from Alison. “Once you know something, you can’t un-know it,” which I can relate to in many ways. The show is so easy to relate to when it focuses on four teenage girls in high school. In my opinion, this show is more of a mystery or thriller than a drama. In every episode, the girls have some contact with, “A” and that’s what makes it exciting.

The creator, Marlene King, has such a diverse mind. She knows how to get the viewers’ attention, how to get us excited for a show and how to leave a good cliff hanger. One thing that I love about her is that she sometimes has a question and answer forum on her twitter before the show to answer questions and give hints about “A.”

So far, Pretty Little Liars has had six seasons. They plan on making a seventh season that will air this Jan. This show will always be intense to me no matter how old it gets. It always has a new problem or mystery the girls need to solve, and that is why I think it’s the best show of the year.
