Freshman Christian Rodriguez and Sophomore Tyler Rodriguez.

How’s cross country different from last year?

Tyler: There’s a lot more freshmen, so we got new legs. Now that I’m a sophomore I get a lot more responsibility, making sure they’re doing what they have to do.

Christian, you’re a freshman. Is the year going how you expected it?

Christian: Well the year has gone pretty fast, we’re halfway through our season, but it feels like we just got started.

Has it been fun?

C: Yeah it’s been really fun.

Did you run in middle school?

C: Yes. I feel like this is more organized and more professional.

How’s the season going, for you as individuals?

T: Well, personally I’m a lot worse than I was last year. It’s just… disappointing

C: I’ve improved a lot from last year, and I’m improving my time as I go through the year.

What’s it like having your brother on the team?

T: We get some more brotherly bonding time.

C: Um, well, Tyler’s friends pick on me, but it’s all fun. And I have to carry everything because I’m a freshman.

T: You’re lucky this year. Last year, it was just me and Yogesh as the freshmen. This year, they have a bunch so they can all carry it.

Favorite moment of the season?

T: I just really like the team dinners. We’ve been having a lot of fun, we get to bond as a team, learn more about each other.

C: I like seeing how far our team can go as far as first place, second place, third place.

Having a brother on the team, is that competitive?

T: Yeah

Is that a good thing?

T: Yeah, definitely. We push each other and we encourage each other. It’s supportive.
