Rogen and Efron make an unlikely comedic team.

At first glance, “Neighbors” seems like a movie you might rent from a redbox one night. Honestly, unless you’re attracted to Dave Franco and Zac Efron, you probably weren’t super thrilled to see the movie. The trailer also doesn’t do the film any justice because it is edited for TV and most of the best jokes are rated R. As a person who went to see the movie because of Zac Efron and Dave Franco, I expected to laugh, but I was surprised that I actually ended up crying tears of laughter.

The movie is about a suburban family living in their cute little house with a baby. Everything is peaceful and boring until a college fraternity moves in. The suburban couple are at the same time looking for excitement in their life, but don’t appreciate the excitement that the fraternity brings. The couple call the cops on the fraternity and a war ensues.

I learned from watching the movie that apparently, Zac Efron is funny. As a cast member who acted alongside already established comedic actors like, Seth Rogan, Rose Byrn, Dave Franco and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Efron holds his own amongst the funny heavyweights. He was the funny, dumb hot guy that everybody sort of pretends to hate but loves.

Although the movie was a little raunchy, which is expected for a rated R film, I’d still recommend it to people 16 and over. Prepare yourself to see some frontal and rear nudity.
