The recent advancements in technology have allowed us to bring word processing and simliar apps into the mobile world. Both iOS and Android have a multitude of apps that can create text, spreadsheet and presentation documents without the need for a computer.

Quickoffice, an app that serves this very purpose, was recently bought out by Google and is now more convenient than ever, giving a direct connection to the user’s Google Drive account. In the past, users have been  able to make documents through the Drive app, but only with an internet connection. Quickoffice brings the service offline and is more specifically capable of creating .docx, .xlsx and .pptx files that are directly compatible with Microsoft Office.

The app has a clean, uncluttered user interface that looks follows the same guidelines as the rest of Google’s apps. It is also available for both iOS and Android. Those looking to bring a full, free word processing experience to their smartphones should look no further.
