Junior quarterback A.C. White has begun to receive the attention of multiple college coaches. To increase his chances of being seen by recruiters, he attends a variety of events outside of the football season. This past weekend he traveled down to Alabama to participate in a 7v7 football tournament.

“I left Friday evening and got back at six in the morning on Monday,” White said.

7v7 tournaments are a popular place for recruiters because it allows players to showcase their talent in a small scale game without pads on. White attended the event strictly to be seen by a variety of college coaches.

“I attended because playing helps me get more college looks,” White said.

7v7 football is slightly different from regular football, the ball is placed on a bench that keeps a clock for how long the offense has to make a play. The ball is placed on the 40 yard line and the offense has two first downs to score. The defense gets points for turnover on downs and interceptions.

Although White has already received an offer from Old Dominion University, he is being looked at by a variety of other schools including James Madison University. White’s team ended the weekend 2-2 and he enjoyed the experience.

“My favorite part was winning but overall just having a really good time with the rest of the team,” White said.
