‘Meet Me in St. Louis’ rehearses for upcoming show

The cast members of Meet me in St. Louis having been practicing since the beginning of December, preparing for Feb. 15, 16,17 and 18, their opening week.

Senior Genevieve Cowardin explains how practice has been going with her and her peers.

“As practices go on things got a lot smoother and people get more comfortable working within their role and new ideas are able to be implemented and things just get a lot cleaner,” Cowardin said.

Cowardin explains how she’s been a part of the musical since her freshmen year.

“I’ve been a part of the musical since my freshman year and see as this being my senior year. I really wanted to continue that trend. It’s really an exciting time with lots of singing and acting. I just love the sparkle in the show and then of course I just love working with my peers,” Cowardin said.

The members of Meet me in St. Louis have been auditioning and rehearsing for this musical for months now. Closer to the show they started rehearsing  everyday. Not only everyday but it lasted longer as well, rehersal would start at 5:30 and end at 10:30.

Cowardin clarifies how nerve-wracking and exciting it is to be in the musical.

“For the week [tech week]and for this week [musical week], performance week it gets really crazy because we’re having night rehearsals. So life just speeds up a little bit, but it’s a good experience and it keeps me happy.” Cowardin said.

Junior Gregorio Castillo describes how ready and excited he is for the show .

“I’m just ready to perform, all week we’ve been working really hard for this musical and leaving rehearsal at like 11:30 at night. So when I’m performing and practicing one last time it’s going to  be emotional but were ready,” Castillo said.
